The Desert Tortoise Quilt Block Pattern
"Desert tortoises will supplement their diet with herbs as well as wildflowers, grasses and cacti. Juveniles also eat bone, rocks and lizards. Most of the water desert tortoises require will come from their food. However, desert tortoises will drink heavily after rainstorms and store water in their bladder. Some have even been known to dig catch basins to collect rainwater for drinking." - from "Desert Tortoises"
